Looking back1

As you can see, Blackberry shrubs everywhere.

There were some cultivars without thorns that we kept, but the thorny ones we have tried to get rid of. We sometimes looked as if we had been wrestling with angry cats. It was really hard work, the roots of the blackberry shrub are very tough and spread over large areas. If you leave a little bit of a root a new shrub will appear in no time.

The previous owner left a small vegetable plot overlooking the Bay of Fundy, which was a nice start for my vegetable garden.
